When I designed my seniors' Yearbook during COVID

"Second Home" was chosen as the overall theme for the farewell of 2021 and the yearbook as well to symbolize the second home the students have found in the close knit community, through thick and thin during these past few years. It also represents everyone coming together for each other in these trying times.

For this farewell, the cultural clubs of my college put together an online event as the official events had to be cancelled in light of the global pandemic. various events and goodies were planned for this farewell including a yearbook for our graduated seniors. I headed the creative direction and design for this memorabilia.

The concept art for this yearbook had various elements like nature that emulates the calm and serenity the community brings to each other juxtaposed with graffiti art and bright traffic images representing the fast paced life of a college student.

The yearbook had student profiles categorized based on their degree. The book also has few spreads of photos reminiscing the joyous moments in their college/ hostel life. It ends with a bingo with interesting and funny things that might have a part of their daily life.

This is the introductory page of each categories of degrees (B.Tech, Dual Degree and PhD). It has the names of the different types of degrees (different departments) under that category.

Each Student Profile had their roll number, photo, name, contact information, and the customary yearbook quote. They are presented in the form of polaroid with paint stokes underneath their names. Polaroids were chosen as they are a classic and old-fashioned way of capturing memories, capturing the timelessness of the moment.

To protect the privacy of the students, a mock version with stock images for people's photos have been used here.

Ending the book with a bingo capturing all the quintessential highlights of college/ hostel life at IIITDM Kancheepuram, courtesy of the college's cultural clubs.

This yearbook remarked the first ever edition from my college, starting an everlasting tradition in encapsulating the delightful memories we've had in this part of our lives.
